About Our Chapter:

Lake Region was organized in 1988 for the purpose of promoting motorcycling activities for Harley Owners Group members. We conduct chapter activities and encourage participation in other H.O.G. events throughout the year. Our chapter activities are conducted in a manner consistent with a family-oriented and nonpolitical philosophy, focusing on safety and strive to Ride and Have Fun. Lake Region is operated under an annual charter from H.O.G., founded and sponsored by Harley-Davidson in 1983 in response to a growing desire by Harley riders for an organized way to share their passion and show their pride. H.O.G. celebrated their 20-year anniversary in 2003, while the Harley-Davidson Motor Company celebrated an American Milestone of 100 years.

Membership:

Membership is open to all national Harley Owners Group® members of good standing. To be a member in our chapter requires the annual payment of a $15.00 membership fee, which includes spouse and children, and the signed membership application and release form. The membership includes a chapter newsletter and participation in chapter events and activities. A renewal slip will be included with the member’s newsletter one month prior to expiration each year.

Activities and Events:

All activities and events are planned annually by the chapter board and officers. They include a monthly ride April through October, special events, a holiday party and overnight trips. An annual calendar of events is located in issues of the official newsletter of Lake Region H.O.G., the Harley Herald, and at Apol’s H-D on the chapter bulletin board. Any activity ideas are welcome from the membership.

Motorcycle Safety:

Harley-Davidson and our local chapter supports safe and responsible motorcycle riding using these guidelines:

1) Alcohol consumption before or during motorcycling activity is not safe and responsible behavior.

2) The chapter will do its best to plan safe routes for all group rides, with road captains keeping speeds within posted speed limits.

3) It is the rider’s responsibility to provide whatever safety equipment they would like to wear, including helmet. Lake Region Harley Owners Group promotes the use of approved safety equipment.
